People: Who will offer the world a peace unlike any other.
Leader: We light the candle of peace for our restless world. (light candle as hymn is sung)
People: “O Come, O Come Emmanuel” (vs 1, sung)
Peacemaking God, we turn to you in prayer. Caught in the frenetic holiday rush, a still small voice beckons from within. Our frantic pace belies the aimlessness that holds us hostage. Created for relationship, our isolation eats at the fabric of our being. Help us to seek your tranquility and bask in the peace that you offer the world this night. Amen.
