The Jesus I Never Knew Week 3
Invitation to Worship: from Psalm 30
Leader: Lord, you lifted me out of my troubles. You did not give my enemies a reason to laugh, so I will praise you
People: Lord my God, I prayed to you, and you healed me
Leader: Praise the Lord, you who are loyal to him!
People: Praise his holy name!
Leader: His anger lasts for a little while, but then his kindness brings life.
People: The night may be filled with tears, but in the morning we can sing for joy!
Leader: You have changed my sorrow into dancing. You have taken away my sackcloth and clothed me with joy.
People: You wanted me to praise you and not be silent.
All: Lord my God, I will praise you forever!
Heavenly Father, we gather together in the wonderful and powerful Name of Jesus Christ. Where two or more are gathered, You’ll be in the midst of us and anything we agree upon as touching, You will surely do. Father in Jesus Name, there is no distance in the spirit and we thank You for those who are feeling unloved, rejected, and abandoned. Let them believe that before the foundations of the earth you chose them. The truth is You love them more than they could know. Your love continually pursues them and You will never leave, nor forsake them. May we show and share your love, grace and mercy. We say thank You Lord, and we pray in your words, “Our Father…”
Scripture: Acts 2:1-4, 12-13, Matthew 9:9-13
Message: “A Revolution of Grace”
Theme: Jesus seemed to attract the unlikely, the unloved and well, honestly, just some of the strange. Why is it that we, as a church, seem to want to exclude these?
